Donor Dollars At Work

With your support, we have continued to invest in this vision for vulnerable adults living in Renfrew County. The majority of funds raised by the Marianhill Foundation goes directly to provide services to those who need them. Examples of recent investments are:

  • Completion of Phase I of the installation of central air conditioning to improve the comfort of our 200 residents.
  • Construction of the tunnel link with the Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH). The PRH now has direct access to all of the Geriatric Services and the complex continuing care beds at Marianhill. Marianhill's residents and others can now access diagnostic and therapy services available at PRH with a simple "walk" through the tunnel.
  • The development of a 27 bed Special Care Unit for residents with cognitive impairment.
  • Refurbishment of Palliative Care Unit: $6,279.00 in donations was received for Palliative Care and combined with $10,561.00 received the previous year renovations were completed.
  • Occupational Therapy Program: Pembroke Legion Branch donated $4,173.00 for the purchase of new therapy and exercise equipment.
  • Alzheimer's Programs.
  • Special Care Unit: Renovations were completed to 1C Wing to convert it to a special care unit. The total cost was approximately $400,000.00. A large portion of this was funded by a bequest.
  • Community Programs.
  • Resident Comfort Funds: New beds, mattresses and furniture.
