| STATEMENT OF VALUES |
| Within the Christian community of Marianhill, honesty and empathy are among the prevailing qualities that form the foundation of our services and care. The healing ministry of Christ requires that these qualities be reflected in the Christian values of Marianhill and form an integral part of our daily conduct. Compassion We have a responsibility to listen to others, and to recognize, understand and respond to their needs with empathy and honesty. Respect We respect the dignity, individuality and worth of each person. Within the community of Marianhill, respect for the individual requires openness to new or different ideas, and acceptance of each individual’s right to her/his own beliefs and to make her/his own personal choices in accordance with those beliefs. Spirituality/Sacredness of Life Each person is made unique by her/his own combination of body and spirit. The body and the spirit each come in many forms and all forms are of equal value. Each person expresses her/his spirituality in a personal manner, through religious or non-religious practice. Marianhill recognizes that each person is precious and unique at all stages of life, from conception to natural death. Advocacy/Vision We are a voice for change, through active promotion of our vision of the current and future needs of those we serve. Each person will advocate to protect the rights and address the needs of each individual that we serve. Responsibility/Accountability At Marianhill, each person is responsible to provide the best possible, holistic care within the available funds and resources. Hospitality/Community Marianhill provides a welcoming community, in a spirit of honesty and empathy, to all who receive or provide care and service. We direct all our efforts to ensure the common good for all members of the Marianhill community.
